Bow Tie Accent Pillows

These elegant handmade decorated accent pillow sets are designed with stripped green, burgundy, gold and tan upholstery fabric with a friendly bow tie design across the front. The backs are solid burgundy. The edges are trimmed with gold upholstery lip cord. They are stuffed with a handmade muslin pillow which was “overstuffed”  with Premium Poly Stuffing. These are firm and soft. They are 16 inches. I will be selling these on ebay as a set for $49 before shipping complete with the pillow inserts.

Shabby Chic Wreath

Yesterday, I rolled little fabric rosettes made from mossy green burlap, creamy white burlap and white cotton cloth with beautiful pink and blue flowers. I then held them together with a good coating of hot glue and attached them to my large 24 inch grapevine wreath. I decided to make my double bow from black fabric with small white flowers and the mossy green burlap fabric.

The wreath was balanced with three large green rosettes which formed a triangle in the design. I filled the emptied

space between with the smaller rosettes made of all the other different colors.

This wreath was a gift to a new family in my church. I hope that they enjoy it in their new home that we are closing on tomorrow!

Today I made this wreath which reminds me of walking on the beach.Today in Atlanta it is cold and wet outside. Wouldn’t it be great to have the warm ocean breeze blowing in my face and feeling the sand in my toes. Oh well, can’t go to the beach today so I will add my seashells and dream of warm days to come! I will be posting this on ebay. The size of the grapevine wreath is 18′ inches. A cream color burlap bow sits on top or the arrangement. The flowers are similar of beach flowers and the colors of the ocean shells and items are white, tan, rustic burgundy, and turquoise. The price of this wreath will be $29.00 before shipping. Summer is coming!!!!

What to do with all those “ripe” bananas!???? Here is an idea from Betty Crocker!

Banana Bread

Rich buttermilk, crunchy nuts and flavorful, ripe bananas make this banana bread tops.

Prep Time 15 Minutes

Makes 2 loaves

 

1 1/4 cups sugar

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (3 to 4 medium)

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped nuts, if desired

 Move oven rack to low position so that tops of pans will be in center of oven. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans, 8 1/2×4 1/2×2 1/2 inches, or 1 loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches.

1. Mix sugar and butter in large bowl. Stir in eggs until well blended. Add bananas, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt just until moistened. Stir in nuts. Pour into pans.
2. Bake 8-inch loaves about 1 hour, 9-inch loaf about 1 1/4 hours, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Loosen sides of loaves from pans; remove from pans and place top side up on wire rack. Cool completely, about 2 hours, before slicing. Wrap tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days, or refrigerate up to 10 days.

Variation

Mini Banana Breads make great gifts! To make, grease bottoms only of 10 miniature loaf pans, 4 1/2×2 3/4×1 1/4 inches. Divide batter among pans (about 1/2 cup each). Bake 30 to 35 minutes.

Variation

Stir 1/2 cup chocolate, peanut butter or butterscotch chips into the batter for mouthwatering flavor combinations.

Substitution

Rise to the occasion! If using self-rising flour, there is no need to add baking soda and salt.

How-To

No buttermilk on hand? In an emergency, you can mix 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice or white vinegar and enough milk to make 1/2 cup. Or substitute 1/2 cup plain yogurt.
